Go to compaq website or jus search for ur driver online for the windows you have,but the compaq site has all of them,goodluck,but prob is when you formated the laptop,you erased your vga drivers,so either way go to another computer if you have a usb flash drive download vga driver,when it asked you where to download it to go to the usb device,dont run it,save and download,then put it on your laptop,you may have to connect laptop to a tv or other device so you can see,external screen,vga to vga cable or a svideo,good luck Nov 20, 2010.
